The first of Oregon's five seniors signed a contract the other day. Leunen? Nope. Hairston? No. Taylor? No.

It's Ray Schafer. Schafer signed a deal with the expansion Siga Lakestars in the Basketball Japan League. He'll be coached there by Oregon native Robert Pierce and he and his wife Sarah will leave soon. He gets two bicycles as part of his contract, so, it's not exactly the NBA. But it is a pro deal and soon he'll be making a living, playing hoops.
