Well,
We are starting to get some traction
with FanSpan so I decided to start keeping everyone up to date with the goings
on in FanSpan land.
Tuesday...Tuesday was a big day for
us. We got some great new members with loads of enthusiasm and some great
development coming down the line. Here are some of the things to look
forward to.
Saturday we have search by team,
sport and zip code for Watch Sites, groups and people launching. Developers
have been working on this project for a couple of months, so this is big.
This week you will see the map on
the front page showing the top 15-25 Watch sites by member count and the 10
newest members displaying. If you choose to, under the profile tab there is a location
link. Enter you zip code and save to show your profile on the map. We are still
in development of the Google API, so we will be rolling out new features with
this fun application as they are completed.
We got ratings systems for Watch
Sites coming next week too. We are all really excited about this feature
because it will allow the community to rate and decide how good a Watch Site is
at the game watching experience. I think you know where I am going with
this...a future of more HDTVs, hotter wings, cheaper beer (or at least bigger
glasses) and more fans to share it all with. It's going to be a great future.
We got HALF of Nebraska (underlined
because there are so many), Kentucky, half of Boston College, and Arkansas
Watch Sites uploaded today.
Other teams we have uploaded so far:
- Texas
- Kansas
- Oklahoma
- Alabama
- Georgia
- Washington
- Oregon State
- Cal
- USC
- Arizona
- Clemson
- Miami (FL)
- Virginia Tech
- Colorado
- Missouri
- Texas A&M
- West Virginia
- Michigan
- Auburn Florida
- LSU
- Washington State
- Oregon
- Stanford
- UCLA
- Arizona State
Many more to come as we scour the
globe for more locations. We will keep you updated as we find them all. If you
have any favorite place to contribute, please send them to
addwatchsite@fanspan.com. As stated above, we are launching the ability
to search these sites by team, zip and sport (kind of the underlying point to
FanSpan) on Saturday. So please be patient as there are good things to come.
We are going to be making some basic
function and look adjustments this week as well, so your feedback is going to
be really important.
FanSpan was started as a dream to
connect all sports fans around the world. Every day we strive to develop the
tools to make this a possibility. I thank everyone for being a part of this and
hope to share a drink with you in the near future.
Cheers!
The FanSpan Team
